Saanich police arrest man in weekend Gorge Park assault
The victim was found near the Craigflower Bridge with serious injuries; a suspect was arrested three days later.

Saanich police have arrested a man in connection with an assault that left a victim seriously hurt in Gorge Park last weekend.
Officers responded to reports of an assault near the Craigflower Bridge on July 11. They found a male victim with significant but non-life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to hospital for treatment. Police closed a portion of the park while they examined the scene.
Three days later, on July 14, police arrested Kyle Dustin David Aird. He faces one count of aggravated assault and two counts of breaching court-ordered conditions. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing. The charges against him have not been proven in court.
