Easter is often considered the unofficial start of spring and the sunny weather forecasted for this weekend won’t disappoint as a number of outdoor activities kick-off for the holiday. 

The Easter Bunny returns this weekend for a jam-packed few days of chocolate, scavenger hunts, and family fun. From egg hunts and lawn games to Easter brunches and live music, there are plenty of events taking place across Greater Victoria that the entire family can enjoy.  

Friday, March 29

Children's Easter Bunny Hunt at The Butchart Gardens 

A map with the locations of 10 bunnies hidden throughout the gardens is available for kids aged 17 and under until Monday. Completed bunny hunt maps can be turned in for a prize and kids can also enter a draw to win an Easter basket. 

Easter Weekend at Bilston Creek Farm 

The farm in Metchosin is hosting family-friendly activities until Monday, including egg decorating workshops, a bunny hunt, crafts, and lawn games. Easter treats like apple fritters, shortbread cookies, lemon lavender doughnuts, and more will also be available from Bits of Bliss today and Saturday. Sea Salt Chocolate will sell Easter chocolate from today to Sunday. General admission is free, kids activities are $5 per child.

Easter Long Weekend Museum Promotion 

The Sidney Museum, the British Columbia Aviation Museum, and the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea are offering discounted admission until Monday for visitors who go to all three museums. Pick up coupons at each location for the other institutions’ admission and gift shops. Coupons are valid until April 7.  

Saturday, March 30

Lion's Easter Eggstravaganza in Esquimalt 

The Esquimalt Lions Club is hosting family-friendly activities at Gorge Park including a chocolate egg hunt, egg and spoon races, and colouring. The Lions Club will also be cooking up a barbecue for purchase. 11am-2:30pm. 

Easter Egg Hunt in Fairfield 

Fairfield United Church is hosting its annual community egg hunt starting at 11am featuring candy and songs at Robert Porter Park. Bring your own Easter basket. Donations of $5 per child or $10 per family will also be collected to support a Syrian family.

Easter Eggstravaganza in Oaklands 

Oaklands Community Association is hosting this family-friendly event at Oaklands Community Centre that includes a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, and an outdoor egg hunt led by the Easter Bunny. Snacks and coffee will be available by donation. Tickets are $12 per person. 9am-12pm. 

Community Easter Egg Hunt in Sooke 

Pemberton Holmes is hosting this annual free egg hunt at John Phillips Memorial Park beginning at 10am, with separate hunts available for different age brackets. Eggs can be exchanged for prizes and other activities will include colouring, face painting, and balloons. Popcorn will be available to snack on.

Easter Egg Hunt in Colwood 

The Easter Bunny will join in on this annual egg hunt at Meadow Park, beginning at 11am. After the hunt, activities at Meadow Park Green from 11:30am-2pm will include cookie decorating, inflatables, family photos, and a creation station. DJ Chris Poynter will play some tunes while food will be available from Kattia’s Kitchen, Greek n’ Go, and Candy Time. 

Neal Estate Egg Hunt for BC Children's Hospital 

The real estate company is hosting its annual egg hunt at Elk/ Beaver Lake Park starting at 11am. Easter crafts, face painting and refreshments will be included. Prizes are also available for a free colouring contest. All proceeds are donated to BC Children’s Hospital. 

Spring Market with the Easter Bunny 

The Easter Bunny is attending this market at Metchosin Community Hall. Treat bags will be given to the first 30 guests and those who find golden Easter eggs will be entered to win a deluxe Easter basket. Over 30 local vendors will be selling goods. Saturday and Sunday, 11am-5pm. 

Sunday, March 31

Easter Buffet at The Empress 

Chow down on an Easter brunch in the historic hotel’s Shaughnessy and Rattenbury Ballrooms featuring a selection of pastries, seafoods, salads, and desserts. An Easter egg hunt will also take place, with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. Tickets are $129 per adult and $75 per child. Seatings at 10am and 12pm. 

Easter Egg Hunt in Central Saanich 

Central Saanich Lions Club will host its annual egg hunt at Centennial Park for kids aged 1-11 , with separate hunts for four different age brackets. Hunt starts at 12pm.  

Easter Egg Hunt in North Saanich 

Peninsula Celebrations Society and Helmsing Real Estate are hosting this egg hunt at Dominion Brook Park. Bring your own Easter basket to find eggs starting at 1pm. The Easter Bunny will also be visiting and games and activities will be available.

Easter Fiesta at The Sticky Wicket 

Celebrate Easter with dancing and live music from the eight-piece Cuban salsa band Orquesta Obatala and tunes from DJ Moses “El Pachanguero.” Tasty food and drink will also be available. Tickets are $30, or $20 for advanced tickets. 9am-2pm.
